What a fun session this was with yet another gymnast from Stars Gymnastics Katy! Morgan, a teammate of my ambassadors Ava & Yaya, was an absolute joy to work with. She was the perfect balance of elegance, poise, silliness and grace. I think the photos we created together show just that!
At just 13 years old, I was so impressed with the way Morgan conducted herself during our shoot. She came prepared with her own ideas of poses & leaps and was open and listened to my direction and critiques. She was ready for whatever I threw her way and vice versa.
Being that the Waterwall is huge tourist attraction in Houston, it can be quite difficult to hold sessions at this location; especially on weekends. This shoot took place on a Sunday night and I can honestly say I have never seen it that busy before. Sometimes we had to work harder and exercise some patience to get the perfect shot but the results were worth it.
While the shots showing off her gymnastics abilities turned out very well, some of my favorite shots are the portraits we decided to take while waiting for the crowds to disperse a bit. Morgan was (is) a natural in front of the camera and she gave me the perfect facial expression every single time. I cannot stress just how well this shoot went with words. Hopefully the shots below will do the trick!
My take away from this shoot: When it comes to locations, try avoid tourist spots on the weekends! And if that's not possible... adapt, adapt, adapt!
